Pythons and boa constrictors within the wilds of Florida have another reptilian enemy within their midst.


The Florida Seafood and Wildlife Conservation Commission has confirmed greater than 100 sightings from the tegu lizard throughout Hillsborough County, based on ABC's Polk Bay affiliate WFTS-TV.


The Argentine black and whitened tegu, Tupinambis merianae, is definitely an invasive species in Florida, and may achieve as much as four ft long, based on the seafood and wildlife commission.


A typical mature female tegu lays around 35 eggs annually, authorities stated, advocating Floridians to not release exotic species in to the wild.
