Walmart pulls 'naughty leopard' costume for kids

KATU

Halloween continues to be several month away but children's costume has already been brewing debate.

Walmart has drawn its "Naughty Leopard" costume for small children after clients were not impressed with the costume's suggestive title. The costume itself comprised of the sleeved, knee-length dress with lace and sparkles along with a cat ears' headpiece.

"We're while tugging the merchandise off our shelves so we apologize to the clients that might have been upset through the title," Walmart speaker Danit Marquardt told Goodmorningamerica.com today.

Local ABC affiliate KATU first reported the costume on Tuesday after audiences spotted it in a Tigard-area Walmart store.

By the following day, Wednesday, exactly the same costume available at an outlet in Eugene, Ore., rang as "item not available," whenever a news reporter tried to get it.
