Would you volunteer to get the flu for $3,000?

Nobody wants to obtain the flu, but let's say you can get compensated to endure herpes?


Researchers using the National Institutes of Health are searching for as much as 100 brave volunteers to achieve the virus dispersed to their noses.


Those who are prepared to fight sneezes, sniffles and aches with regard to science might be paid out around $3,000 for his or her time, based on the study methods.


Daniel Bennett, 26, a cafe or restaurant worker from College Park. Md., was among the individuals who volunteered to contract influenza, the herpes virus that kills 1000's of individuals each year, based on the Cdc and Prevention.


"I received a really scolding email from my mother," Bennett told the Connected Press. "Their standards are extremely high, I don't think I am at risk.Inch


Bennett along with other volunteers is going to be needed to invest a minimum of nine days quarantined in a hospital as doctors observe their physiques react at different stages from the flu. The aim would be to gain understanding of how researchers can produce a better flu vaccine, based on the study protocol particulars published online.


Doctors will administer surveys towards the patients and collect their nasal liquids daily for future research. The participants aren't launched until nasal tests show they're no more contagious.
