After I heard that Diablo Cody had signed onto write the large-screen form of my beloved "Sweet Valley High" series, I died just a little inside. In a great way.
The thing is, I am this type of hardcore SVH fan which i collect the series and browse them around the regular. I'm still not within the butchering that happened when SVH grew to become a Television show, starring a lot of nonwinners who'd no enterprise tainting Francine Pascal's vision. However, Diablo Cody I trust. Mostly.
I am thrilled to understand the film is going to be happening within the 1980s, meaning it'll, hopefully, be inspired visually through the original book covers, identifiable by their soft-focus-colored pencil sketches. However, I am concerned that Diablo may need help casting the video. I'll never forgive her if Lila Fowler is performed by, shudder, Megan Fox, or Bruce Patman's brawny bad boy is destroyed by faux badass Shia LeBeouf. Diablo, I think you'll are reading through.

Elizabeth Wakefield
So far as the twins Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield are worried, the filmmakers are generally going to need to find a set of twins that may act or cast a larger star to experience both twins with the aid of some CGI action. I am speculating they'll decide on a latter, by which situation, I've got a suggestion: Amanda Seyfried! She's a carbon copy of how the twins are referred to within the book: "perfect size 6 figure" and "blue-eco-friendly eyes the colour from the Off-shore," plus, I believe she could totally pull-from the twins' polar opposite personas. Boring, do-gooder Elizabeth...
Jessica Wakefield
...and sassy Jessica! (I only say by using affection, as Jess was my personal favorite. Also, if anybody was making love, it had been most likely Liz, thinking about she was with Todd for most of senior high school. Jessica only agreed to be letting boys undo her bikini top and remaining out through the night with mustached college men.)
Lila Fowler
Lila Fowler, Jessica Wakefield's closest friend, ought to be performed by Leighton Meester. I apologize, but wealthy witch Blair Waldorf was totally patterned after Lila, which means this role wouldn't be a stretch within the smallest.
Bruce Patman
Oh, Bruce Patman, exactly what a complicated guy you're. Semi-newcomer Kellan Lutz has got the sexy, mean bad boy factor lower.
Enid Rollins
I usually type of hated Elizabeth's closest friend Enid Rollins. She was dorky along with a goody-goody like Elizabeth, so she ought to be performed by someone around the mousier, tomboyish side, like Ellen Page.
Amy Sutton
Amy Sutton was Elizabeth's bestie in junior high school, however she moved away, converted into a snotty snob after which moved to town, simply to become new besties with Jessica. I'm not sure if Kristin Cavallari can act, but sister looks and functions much like her on "The Hillsides."
Todd Wilkins
Todd Wilkins was the most out of Elizabeth's lame men. I'd sex him up by casting that hottie Zac Effron.
Regina Morrow
It will require a genuine actress to experience Regina Morrow, the hard of hearing girlfriend of Bruce Patman, who dies of the cocaine overdose. Emma Watson must have the chops.
Lynne Henry
Lynne Henry would be a much more compact character within the series, but because I had been doing research, I had been struck because when edgy and indie rock Lynne's look was in those days. Alexa Chung could be throughout that.
