A Nj lady of Korean decent is suing Resumes for $a million after declaring that the store worker used a racial Asian slur on her behalf receipt.
Hyun Lee, 37, of Egg Harbor, N.J., was obtaining photos from the Resumes, and in Egg Harbor, N.J., when she observed the cashier had recognized her as "Ching Chong Lee" on her behalf receipt.
Based on her attorney, Lee approached Resumes customer relations, but was apparently relayed through Resumes within an email response the worker could be "counseled and trained."
"He must have been ended immediately," Lee stated through her attorney, Susan Chana Lask, to ABCNews.com. "She never got an apology. She never got anything further after she complained."
Unhappy with CVS' response, Lee filed a federal discrimination suit against Resumes Caremark Corp., Resumes Pharmacy, Corporation., Resumes, Nj Resumes Pharmacy LLC and also the un named cashier on April 16 in federal court in Camden, N.J.
"It seems the worker remains,Inch Lask stated. "She'll not go back to that Resumes until that worker is taken away.Inch Lask stated they don't be aware of race from the cashier.
Lee needs $a million because of "injuries, mental anguish, severe emotional distress, harm, and damages," that they allegedly continues to be affected by consequently from the alleged receipt, based on the suit.
"Resumes/pharmacy is dedicated to dealing with our clients with dignity and respect," Michael DeAngelis, representative for Resumes, told ABCNews.com. "There exists a firm non-discrimination policy. As the accusations within the complaint aren't consistent with our values or our guidelines, we can't discuss an issue including pending lawsuit."
Lee and her attorney think that CVS' statement is inadequate. "If they are dedicated to dealing with all their clients with dignity and respect, we're feeling they ought to possess a zero tolerance level with this discrimination," Lask stated.
