Nick Nolte has told GQ Magazine the infamous picture of him within an Hawaiian shirt, hair bursting like flames from his mind wasn't, as reported, a mug shot.

Nolte told GQ the photograph was taken in a local hospital, as they was awaiting bloodstream test results after being arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired. He stated the particular mug shot was taken later, as he was reserved in the Sheriff's station.
