"To the near future Part II" made some fanciful forecasts for which 2015 will bring, including flying cars and hoverboards.

But Mess Hatfield, footwear designer at Nike, is searching to show a number of that whimsy into reality, stating that Marty McFly's self-tying athletic shoes are coming.

Hatfield spoke in a recent event in the Jordan Brand's Flight Lab in New Orleans when preparing for that National basketball association All-Star game. The web site Sole Collector reported that whenever an attendee requested concerning the advanced athletic shoes, Hatfield responded, "Shall we be gonna see energy laces in 2015? To that particular, I only say YES!"

This is not the very first time Nike attempted to duplicate the famous on-screen athletic shoes. This Year, the shoe company launched Nike Mag Air. It did not have self-tightening laces, however the footwear appeared as if these were obtained from the film prop room. Nike made only one,500 pairs and sold them off, with the proceeds visiting the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's disease research.

Hatfield didn't specify whether or not they could be returning the Nike Mag Air or putting the energy laces in various model shoe. Nike rejected to comment further around the matter.
