Two moms required a large food corporation to the court over false advertising and won their situation - and today you can aquire a cut from it.

Their goal was to obtain the maker of Nutella to confess that, unlike its advertisements, the merchandise isn't any much healthier than the usual bag of chips.

Laura Rude-Barbato, mother of three required the producer of Nutella to the court and won. Athena Hohenberg, a North Park mother of the 4-year-old daughter also required the organization to the court.

Rude-Barbato stated their television ad which stated that "Nutella is made from simple, quality elements like hazelnuts, skim milk along with a hint of coco," was false.

"I believed it was a minimum of as healthy as peanut butter or even more and that is the sense I acquired in the advertisement. I figured it had health advantages also it clearly does not," she stated.

After watching the advertisements, Rude-Barbato was shocked to uncover that what she'd been feeding her children wasn't healthy whatsoever.

Actually, just two tbsps of Nutella consists of 200 calories, 21 grams of sugar and 11 grams of body fat.

"I felt duped," stated Rude-Barbato.

In Hohenberg's suit, she stated that they "was shocked to understandInch that Nutella "was the following best factor to some bag of chips."

The organization website still claims: "when used moderately with complementary meals, Nutella® is an easy and quick tool to inspire kids to consume whole grain products, for example wheat grains toast."

Rude-Barbato fought against back for truth in advertising and also the maker of Nutella, Fererro USA granted her $3.5 million - that's between $4 to $20 per person.

Any consumer who bought Nutella between Jan. 1, 2008 and February. 3, 2012, (or August. 1, 2009 and Jan. 23, 2012 in California) can file claims.
