Tire that caused fla. van crash part of recall

Federal safety authorities are looking into a fatal chapel van crash in north Florida that involved the catastrophic failure of the tire which was a part of a This summer 2012 recall.



The Nation's Transportation Safety Board reported Wednesday the 2-year-old BFGoodrich Commercial T/A A/S was a part of an item recall started with that company for roughly 794,000 tires.



On February. 21, the left rear tire blew on the brand new Port Richey's First Baptist Chapel van which was traveling on Interstate 75 near Lake City. Two grown ups were wiped out within the crash. Another adult and 7 children were hurt.



The NTSB states it'll check out the tire and then try to find out if the chapel ever received the security recall notice.



A mobile phone message seeking comment from Michelin, BFGoodrich's parent company, wasn't immediately came back.
